Introduction to the Theme of Creativity

The opening words are Blessing of Creativity by Unitarian Universalist Religious Educator Theresa Youngblood.

Connecting and creating,
Dear Ones, is what we humans do best.
Our hearts, our minds, and our hands
are wired for exactly such work.
With the Spirit of Life bringing us back
to our Source with each breath,
may we use our humanity to connect
people to people,
people to nature,
people to themselves,
and people to the divine
–however they might define it.
May we bravely create equality,
create beauty,
create elegant solutions to pressing problems,
create peace within and without.
May we make the space in our lives for the muse to enter,
to connect us to that which is life-giving
so that we may express it compellingly to one another,
making tools,
making art,
making friends,
making meaning,
making justice.
May it be so.

Ray Bradbury said

We are cups, constantly and quietly being filled. The trick is, knowing how to tip ourselves over and let the beautiful stuff out.

James Morison compelled us to “Share Your Glorious Light with the World

Within each of our hearts there is a most glorious light.
Go forth, and let its spark help you understand what troubles both you and others;
Go forth, and let its light of reason be a guide in your decisions;
Go forth, and bring its ray of hope to those in need of help in both body and spirit, that they may find healing;
Go forth, and fan the flames of passion to help heal our world;
Go forth, and spread the warm glow of love, pushing back the darkness of the world;
Go forth, and share your glorious light with the world.
